G-PSF Tourism Working Group Meets to Set Action Plans for Chinese National Visa Exemption
AKP Phnom Penh, December 06, 2025 --
Minister of Tourism H.E. Huot Hak chaired a meeting on Dec. 5 with the Tourism Working Group of the Royal Government-Private Sector Forum (G-PSF) to discuss action plans and tasks to ensure the successful and effective implementation of the 2026 trial visa exemption for Chinese tourists.
The meeting was attended by Oknha Kith Meng, President of the Cambodian Chamber of Commerce and Chairman of the Private Sector Working Group Coordination Committee for the G-PSF mechanism; Oknha Luu Meng, Co-Chairman of the Tourism Working Group; representatives from relevant ministries and institutions; and representatives from the tourism association, Cambodia Airports, Angkor International Airport, airlines, and key tourism operators.
The gathering came just days after the Royal Government announced the visa exemption policy for Chinese nationals. Under the pilot scheme, Chinese tourists will be able to stay in Cambodia for up to 14 days between June 15 and Oct. 15, 2026, without a visa application or fees.
During the meeting, H.E. Huot Hak urged relevant ministries, institutions, and the private sector to widely disseminate information about the policy, prepare detailed action plans, and assign responsibilities to ensure the effective implementation of the visa exemption trial.
Private sector representatives expressed their deep appreciation to the Royal Government for introducing the programme, which they believe will help boost economic activity during the green season.
According to the Ministry of Tourism, Cambodia welcomed one million Chinese tourists during the January-October period of 2025, marking a 44 percent increase compared to the same period last year.
