Koh Kong Governor Pushes Darasakor Developer to Elevate and Diversify Coastal Tourism Offerings
AKP Phnom Penh, December 01, 2025 --
Koh Kong Provincial Governor H.E. Ms. Chhy Va has encouraged the Coastal City Development Group Co., Ltd. to substantially expand and modernise its tourism services at the Darasakor Coastal Resort Area.
The governor specifically urged the company to embrace greater innovation, diversity, and quality to enhance the destination's appeal and effectively cater to all visitor segments, both domestic and international.
Speaking at the Nov. 30 closing ceremony of the three-day “Darasakor Celebrating Coastal Tourism Festival”, Governor Chhy Va underscored the critical importance of developing distinctive, safe, and attractive tourism products that guarantee high-quality experiences for tourists.
She highlighted that the Royal Government, under the National Assembly’s Seventh Legislature, has designated tourism as a strategic national priority. The Ministry of Tourism’s forward-looking vision focuses on ensuring the sector is high-quality, vibrant, competitive, sustainable, and inclusive.
This vision is guided by the principle of “Tourism Connectivity Linking Water, Land and Nature,” aimed at establishing Cambodia as a diverse, leading, and welcoming global tourism destination while reinforcing national resilience and reputation.
The Governor acknowledged Coastal City Development Group’s significant role as a major investor in developing a wide spectrum of tourism products and services in the Darasakor area. These developments include resorts, hotels, restaurants, various entertainment and recreational facilities, integrated vacation zones emphasising comfort and wellness, and the preservation of pristine, clean sandy beaches for relaxation.
The governor also praised the company’s collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism in organising coastal tourism events, including two previous Beach Festivals and the recent “Darasakor Celebrating Coastal Tourism” programme, which successfully promoted the coastal attractions and engaged visitors and stakeholders over the past three days.
She stressed that these coastal events are not merely for boosting arrivals but are also integral to raising awareness about protecting marine natural resources and maintaining clean coastal environments, thereby promoting responsible and sustainable tourism development. These initiatives, she noted, contribute significantly to the broader promotion of Cambodia’s coastal destinations, attracting growing numbers of tourists.
In her closing remarks, Governor Chhy Va encouraged both local and foreign visitors to continue exploring Darasakor and enjoying its services, while urging those who have visited to help promote its attractions more widely.
She expressed strong confidence that the successful hosting of the coastal tourism event, coupled with the imminent completion of upgrades to National Roads No. 48 and No. 10, will lead to a significant increase in tourist arrivals to Koh Kong province, particularly the Darasasakor resort area, in the coming period.
