Cambodia, Korea Establish Joint Task Force to Protect Korean Nationals
AKP Phnom Penh, November 11, 2025 --
The General Commissariat of the Cambodian National Police and the Korean National Police Agency have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish the Cambodia-Korea Joint Task Force for Korean Nationals.
The signing ceremony took place on Nov. 10 at the Ministry of Interior under the witness of H.E. Abhisantibindit Sar Sokha, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior of Cambodia, and H.E. Cho Hyun, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea.
Both sides highly valued the excellent relations and law enforcement cooperation between Cambodia and the Republic of Korea, particularly in information sharing and mutual assistance to combat crimes occurring in both countries and beyond, including the prevention and suppression of cyber fraud.
H.E. Deputy Prime Minister Sar Sokha expressed his appreciation to the Government of the Republic of Korea for its continued support and cooperation in helping maintain security, public order, and social safety in Cambodia.
For his part, H.E. Cho Hyun expressed his hope that the partnership between the two nations would continue to grow and create more favourable conditions for effective law enforcement collaboration.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthen and expand bilateral cooperation for the mutual benefit of the peoples of Cambodia and the Republic of Korea.
