Cambodian DanceSport Team Wins Medals at Regional Championships
AKP Phnom Penh, July 11, 2025 -- As of July 10, Cambodian dancers have secured five medals (one silver and four bronze) at the prestigious 2025 Southeast Asian and Asian DanceSport Championships hosted by the World DanceSport Federation (WDSF) in Vietnam.
According to Secretary General of the Cambodian DanceSport Federation (CDSF) Ms. Hang Simorn, standout performer Ms. Or Rachny claimed a silver medal in Jive and a bronze in Paso Doble in the Solo Youth Single Dance category.
The remaining bronze medals were earned by Ms. Seng Sokim and Ms. Mov Danita in Paso Doble (partner dance) and Mr. Chum Lyheang and Ms. Or Raksa in both Samba and Cha Cha Cha.
Ms. Hang Simorn expressed confidence in the team’s potential to bring home more medals, praising the dancers’ dedication, skill, and experience.
The weeklong tournament, from July 8 to 13, has drawn approximately 3,000 athletes from 37 countries, underscoring its significance in the global DanceSport calendar.
Representing Cambodia, the federation dispatched a delegation of 18 athletes, along with Technical Director and Delegate Head Mr. Shou Dong and Coach Ms. You Shu Jie.
