Cambodia-China Joint Logistics and Training Centre Inaugurated
AKP Phnom Penh, April 05, 2025 -- The Cambodia-China Ream Joint Logistics and Training Centre at the Ream naval base located in Ong village, Sangkat Ream, Kampong Som city, Preah Sihanouk province was inaugurated this morning under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet and visiting Lt. Gen. Cao Qingfeng, Deputy Chief of the Joint Staff of the Central Military Commission of China.
Addressing the function, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet expressed his gratitude to the Government and people of China for their continued support of Cambodia’s development, particularly in the field of national defence.
“This achievement not only reflects the fruitful outcome of cooperation between the two nations, but also enhances Cambodia's national defence capabilities,” he said. “It promotes mutual interests, ensures national security, safety, and strengthen public order under the motto of Cambodia's national defence sector: security, development, and international cooperation.”
The new facility will also enhance the Royal Cambodian Navy’s capabilities in maintaining maritime security and safeguarding the country’s natural maritime resources, he continued.
For his part, H.E. Lt. Gen. Cao Qingfeng spoke highly of the strong military cooperation between both countries, and reaffirmed China’s support for strengthening Cambodia’s national defence and military human resource development.
He emphasised that the establishment of the Ream Joint Logistics and Training Centre is the result of mutual respect and close cooperation between China and Cambodia. The centre, he added, will contribute to promoting the ties of friendship between the two countries and deepening their military cooperation.
