Luxembourg to Provide 2 Million Euros to Support Mine Clearance Project in Cambodia
AKP Phnom Penh, March 31, 2025 --
Luxembourg will extend a financial assistance of 2 million euros to support the phases 4 and 5 of “Clearing for Result” project in Cambodia.
An agreement on the extension of this financial assistance will be signed at Raffles Hotel Le Royal in Phnom Penh tomorrow between visiting His Royal Highness Crown Prince Guillaume Jean Joseph Marie of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and Ms. Alissar Chaker, Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Cambodia.
H.E. Ly Thuch, Senior Minister and First Vice President of the Cambodian Mine Action and Victim Assistance Authority (CMAA), will witness the signing ceremony.
“The contribution of Luxembourg will increase the output of mine clearance, improve service provision for people with disabilities through rehabilitation centres, and build national capacity to respond to the collection of remaining munitions,” stated CMAA in a press release made public this morning.
His Royal Highness Crown Prince Guillaume Jean Joseph Marie of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg arrived in Siem Reap province on Mar. 30 for a visit in Cambodia until April 2.
