Cambodia to Conduct a Large-Scale Airport Incident Simulation
AKP Phnom Penh, February 08, 2025 --
The State Secretariat of Civil Aviation (SSCA) plans to conduct a large-scale incident simulation to get ready to promptly respond to accidents at Siem Reap Angkor International Airport on Feb. 27.
The plan was shared by Mr. Seng Ravuth, SSCA Deputy Director, in a recent meeting in Phnom Penh.
He said that the drill is necessary for all international airports to ensure sufficient capacities to manage and handle the emergencies at or near the airport.
According to Mr. Bun Ratha, Director of Siem Reap Angkor International Airport, the drill is part of the airport's emergency management plan.
It will help define communication between relevant institutions and authorities and how to protect people and property during emergencies or disasters.
It also aims to prepare manpower, materials, facilities, and other resources to be dispatched during such operations, said Mr. Bun Ratha.
