Angkor Archaeological Park Attracts 146,140 Foreign Tourists in January
AKP Phnom Penh, February 01, 2025 -- The famed Angkor Archaeological Park received 146,140 foreign tourists in the first month of this year, up 26.4 percent compared to January last year, the state-owned Angkor Enterprise said in a report released on Feb. 1.
The enterprise earned some US$6.9 million from Angkor ticket sales, a year-on-year increase by 25.5 percent over the same period last year, read the report.
Approximately US$300,000 of the January's income has been donated to Cambodia Kantha Bopha Foundation to support the Kantha Bopha Children's Hospitals' activities in providing free medical services for Cambodian children, the same source added.
The entrance fee for a one-day visit to the park is US$37, while a three-day visit costs US$62, and a week-long visit, US$72.
The Royal Government of Cambodia launched on Jan. 30 the Angkor ticketing system and ticket inspection system reform, giving more options to foreign tourists and tour agencies to buy entrance tickets via digital platform at self-service machines, making it easier for them to visit the ancient temples.
Fifteen machines have been installed at three different locations across Siem Reap city - Angkor Enterprise's ticket counter, Angkor Parvis, and The Heritage Walk mall.
Located in Siem Reap northwestern province, the Angkor Archaeological Park, inscribed on the World Heritage List of the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) in 1992, is the most popular tourist destination in Cambodia.
