Two Young Siamese Crocodiles Spotted in Srepok River Area
AKP Phnom Penh, January 21, 2025 --
Two rare Siamese crocodiles of around five to six months old with their mother have been discovered in the Srepok River area.
Wildlife conservation organisation WWF Cambodia shared the good news on Jan. 20, following a five-day trip to the location by a joint team.
The rangers from the Provincial Department of Environment and the local community, as well as other relevant counterparts, also joined the trip, it said.
Led by the WWF Cambodia's biodiversity research and monitoring team, the trip aimed to monitor the situation of the crocodiles and search for new hatchlings.
They also removed illegal fishing gear and addressed other threats to the life of the crocodiles.
