Cambodian PM Encourages Cambodia Rice Federation to Promote Rice Quality

Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet has called on Cambodia Rice Federation (CRF) to promote the Kingdom’s rice quality, as rice is one of the long-term strategic crops for Cambodia.
The remarks were made known here this morning when Samdech Thipadei Prime Minister received a delegation of CRF led by Neak Oknha Hun Lak, Chairman of the Board of Directors of CRC.
On the occasion, the Cambodian Prime Minister encouraged the CRF to continue to cooperate more closely with relevant ministries and institutions of the Royal Government to promote direct exports to international markets with value-added product, as well as to participate in providing technical skills training to farmers to improve product quality and increase productivity, and to promote widespread dissemination of the progress of Cambodian rice production.
Samdech Thipadei expressed his high appreciation for the CRF for its valuable contribution to the Royal Government in developing the rice sector and highlighted that the agricultural sector has played an important role in improving the livelihoods of Cambodian people and the socio-economic development of Cambodia.
The Premier stressed that the Royal Government continues to prioritise rice, which is Cambodia’s long-term strategic crop, and outlined the necessary policies to support the rice crop and ensure the competitiveness of the Cambodian rice sector by building connectivity infrastructure, streamlining transport, and reducing production costs, as well as promoting ownership of the domestic supply chain and exports to international markets.
For his part, Neak Oknha Hun Lak informed the Samdech Thipadei over the progress and work activities of CRF in contributing to promote the Cambodian rice export to the international markets.
