Even amidst the difficult conditions imposed by the US government's policy of strangulation, Cuba remains a preferred destination for French tourists.
During the recent IFTM Top Resa tourism trade fair—held under the theme “The Value of Travel: Discovering Together What Creates Impact”—Cuba engaged in extensive exchanges with industry counterparts at an event where Uzbekistan was the guest of honor.
At the event, which saw a strong presence from Latin American countries, the Cuban Tourism Office in France held meetings with airlines, destination management companies (DMCs), tour operators, travel agencies, and specialized professionals.
Tourism Counselor Carmen Julia Suarez noted that the industry is facing a period of significant challenges due to the intensification of the US government’s policy against Cuba.
Therefore, it is essential to keep tourism professionals up to date on all the transformations currently being implemented, the counselor stated.
Despite a decline in visitor numbers, France remains among the top 10 source markets for tourism to Cuba—a ranking it has historically held—the official confirmed to Prensa Latina.
Likewise, the airline Air Europa maintains its regular Paris–Havana route (with a stopover in Madrid), operating four flights per week.
The most important thing is for people to know that Cuba remains open to tourism and that its main attractions have not been affected by external pressures; after all, “our island is a unique destination that invites visitors to discover its authenticity—spanning culture, heritage, nature, dance, and diverse, incomparable beaches—but above all, the hospitality of a wonderful and resilient people.”
