AKP Phnom Penh, September 29, 2026 -- The Secretariats of the Cambodia–Thailand Regional Border Committee (RBC) held an informal meeting at the Choam–Sa Ngam International Border Checkpoint in Anlong Veng district, Oddar Meanchey province, on Tuesday morning to discuss the implementation of existing bilateral agreements.

According to the Ministry of National Defence, the meeting, held at 11:00 a.m., was attended by the Cambodian delegation led by Brigadier General Nit Narong, Head of the Cambodian RBC Secretariat, and the Thai delegation led by Major General Kamphanat Waphansu, Head of the Thai RBC Secretariat.

The meeting was held at the invitation of the Cambodian RBC Secretariat of Military Region 4, under the observation of ASEAN Observer Teams (AOTs) from both sides.

During the informal meeting, both sides discussed continued efforts to fully and effectively implement the contents of the Joint Statement of the Third Special Meeting of the Cambodia–Thailand General Border Committee (GBC), dated Dec. 27, 2025.

The discussions also covered operational coordination and the resolution of various issues with a view to building mutual trust between the two sides.

The Royal Government and Ministry of National Defence of Cambodia reaffirmed their firm, sincere and unwavering commitment to fully and faithfully respecting and implementing the Dec. 27, 2025 Joint Statement of the Third Special GBC Meeting, the Joint Declaration on the Peace Agreement between Cambodia and Thailand dated Oct. 26, 2025, and all other relevant agreements.

The commitment aims to contribute to the swift improvement of the situation and the restoration of normalcy, peace and long-term stability.
