Cambodian Minister of Commerce Urges UAE to Invest in Four Sectors

Cambodia has requested the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to invest in sectors of agriculture, tourism, industry, and infrastructure to accelerate economic growth and reduce poverty in accordance with the Royal Government of Cambodia (RGC)’s Rectangular Strategy, phase IV.
The requested was made by Minister of Commerce H.E. Pan Sorasak while holding a bilateral talk with H.E. Ms. Reem Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Cooperation of UAE, in Dubai, UAE yesterday to strengthen economic and trade relations, said a news release of Ministry of Commerce.
H.E. Pan Sorasak briefed H.E. Ms. Reem Al Hashimy on Cambodia’s economic growth, RGC’s vision and Rectangular Strategy, phase IV, investment protection policy and other incentives for foreign investors. He took the opportunity to invite UAE to attend Cambodian and Import and Export Products Exhibition to be held in December 2019 to find trade partners, and promote the Expo 2020 Dubai to the people of Cambodia and other ASEAN countries.
H.E. Ms. Reem Al Hashimy, also Director General of Expo 2020 Dubai Bureau, accepted the invitation and thanked H.E. Minister for sharing key information related to investment opportunities in Cambodia. She also pledged to urge UAE’s private sector to conduct investment feasibility in Cambodia.
H.E. Ms. Reem Al Hashimy expressed her intention to visit Cambodia in the near future to study the country’s tourism potential and its cultural richness as well as to strengthen diplomatic relations and cooperation between Cambodia and UAE.
