Vietnamese President Calls for Stronger Cooperation between Cambodian and Vietnamese NAs
AKP Phnom Penh, February 26, 2019 --
H.E. Nguyen Phu Trong, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party and President of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam has encouraged the Cambodian and Vietnamese National Assemblies (NAs) to further foster their cooperation.
The Vietnamese president made the encouragement while meeting with Samdech Akka Moha Ponhea Chakrei Heng Samrin, President of the NA of Cambodia, at the NA Palace here this morning.
H.E. Nguyen Phu Trong spoke highly of the ties of friendship, solidarity and cooperation between the two neighbouring countries, particularly between the two NAs.
For his part, Samdech Heng Samrin expressed warm welcome to the Vietnamese president and thanked Viet Nam for its support for the development of Cambodia, as well as for its financial assistance for the construction of an administrative building of the Cambodian NA.
The Cambodian NA president also highly appreciated Viet Nam’s growing role and prestige on the international arena. Moreover, he congratulated the country on hosting the U.S.-North Korea Summit, a key meeting for peace and stability in the region and the world.
