Techo International Airport Hosts Francophonie Exhibition Ahead of Summit
AKP Phnom Penh, October 20, 2026 --
Techo International Airport is hosting the Francophonie Exhibition from Oct. 17 to Nov. 30 to celebrate the longstanding historical ties between Cambodia and the French-speaking world ahead of the 20th Francophonie Summit.
Co-organised by Cambodia Airports and Cambodia Airport Investment Co., Ltd. (CAIC), the exhibition showcases the development of Cambodian civil aviation and highlights decades of cooperation, technical expertise and shared cultural heritage between Cambodia and the Francophone community.
According to a statement from Cambodia Airports, the exhibition features photographs, images and articles illustrating the history and founding of the Francophone community, its principles, Khmer culture and civilisation, Angkorian temples, traditional Khmer cuisine, and Cambodia’s geographical location and development.
It also highlights the distinctive features of Techo International Airport, Cambodia’s new-generation 4F-class aviation hub.
A key focus of the exhibition is the contribution of French expertise to Cambodia’s aviation sector. Since the 1950s, French partners have played a role in financing, developing, constructing and operating the Kingdom’s airports, helping strengthen connectivity, resilience and economic development.
The exhibition at Techo International Airport serves as a symbolic bridge between Cambodia’s historical heritage and its future ambitions, particularly as the Kingdom prepares to host major international diplomatic gatherings.
Cambodia Airports, powered by VINCI Airports, continues this legacy by connecting Cambodia with international destinations, welcoming millions of passengers annually and supporting the country’s tourism, business and investment sectors.
Cambodia is scheduled to host the 20th Francophonie Summit on Nov. 14-16, bringing together heads of state, heads of government and senior representatives from member countries and governments of the International Organisation of La Francophonie (OIF).
The summit, held every two years, will mark a historic milestone for Cambodia as it welcomes high-level leaders and representatives from the Francophone community, underscoring the Kingdom’s commitment to strengthening international cooperation and cultural exchange.
