Phnom Penh Named World’s Third Best Big City by Condé Nast Traveler

Phnom Penh has been named the third Best Big City in the World for 2026 in the Readers’ Choice Awards of renowned U.S. travel magazine Condé Nast Traveler, recognised for its vibrant riverside charm, royal heritage and growing culinary scene.
The Cambodian capital climbed seven places from 10th in 2025 to secure third place this year, ranking ahead of major international destinations including Shanghai, Sydney, Montreal, Paris, Cape Town, Singapore and Kyoto.
Seoul was ranked the world’s Best Big City, followed by Tokyo.
The 2026 Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards were based on a total of 798,867 votes from readers across various categories, including cities, hotels, resorts, airlines and airports.
The latest recognition highlights Phnom Penh’s growing appeal as an international travel destination, combining its cultural and historical heritage with its dynamic urban atmosphere and evolving food scene.
