China-ASEAN Entrepreneurs Summit Focuses on Expanding Investment and Trade Ties
AKP Phnom Penh, September 1, 2026 --
The “China-ASEAN Entrepreneurs Summit 2026” has highlighted the importance of strengthening investment cooperation and promoting practical business opportunities between China, ASEAN Member States, and Cambodia.
The summit was held in Phnom Penh on Sept. 1, bringing together entrepreneurs, investors, and business representatives to explore new opportunities for cooperation amid changes in the global economic and investment landscape.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, H.E. Chea Vuthy, Secretary-General of the Cambodia Investment Board at the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC), called on businesses and investors to continue exploring investment opportunities in Cambodia and to consider the Kingdom as a base for expanding production and business operations to regional and global markets.
He underlined the importance of closer connectivity between foreign investors and local enterprises, saying that foreign investment should contribute not only to the creation of factories and jobs, but also to the transfer of knowledge and technology and the development of human resources in Cambodia.
H.E. Chea Vuthy said the Royal Government of Cambodia has been implementing measures to promote long-term investment and improve the business environment.
The measures include human resource training, improvements to physical infrastructure, efforts to reduce trade and investment costs, and the strengthening of the CDC’s One-Stop-Service mechanism to provide investors with more convenient, fast, and efficient services.
The government is also promoting the use of digital technology in investment project registration, combating online crime, and implementing other measures to facilitate investment, he added.
The Cambodian Investment Board is ready to welcome, facilitate, and support investors throughout the entire investment cycle in Cambodia, from the decision-making stage to the implementation and expansion of investment projects, H.E. Chea Vuthy said.
He noted that, despite global uncertainty, geopolitical shifts, conflicts, and the reorganiation of global supply chains, significant opportunities for cooperation remain.
“The China-ASEAN Entrepreneurs Summit should serve as a forum for turning dialogue into cooperation and turning cooperation into practical investment opportunities,” underlined the Secretary-General of the Cambodia Investment Board.
