Samdech Maha Rathsapheathika Thipadei Khuon Sudary, President of the National Assembly of the Kingdom of Cambodia, has sent a congratulatory message to Hon. Tan Sri Dato' (Dr.) Johari bin Abdul, Speaker of the House of Representatives of Malaysia, on the 69th Anniversary of Independence Day of Malaysia.

“On behalf of the National Assembly of the Kingdom of Cambodia and on my own behalf, I wish to extend my warmest congratulations and best wishes to you, your colleagues and the people of Malaysia on the historic commemoration of the 69th Anniversary of Independence Day on 31 August 2026,” she wrote in the message dated Aug. 27.

Samdech Khuon Sudary also spoke highly of the longstanding ties between the two nations, stressing that they have been steadily enhanced and carefully nurtured based on mutual respect, mutual understanding, mutual trust and mutual interest.

“Our people-centred comprehensive cooperation has been strengthened across sectors, ranging from economy and security to people-to-people and cultural exchanges,” she emphasised. “I believe that these existing ties, in particular between the two legislatures, will be continue to flourish for mutual benefits of our two peoples.”
