Chenla University Grants Higher Education Scholarships to Ministry of Information
AKP Phnom Penh, August 6, 2026 -- Cambodia's Ministry of Information received a grant of associate and bachelor's degree scholarships from Chenla University on Thursday for the 2026–2027 academic year to support human resource development and assist civil servants and underprivileged families.
The initiative was finalised during a courtesy call between Information Minister H.E. Neth Pheaktra and Chenla University Rector Dr. Y Lima at the ministry's headquarters in Phnom Penh.
Dr. Y Lima stated that the scholarships aim to relieve financial burdens on students' families while expanding access to quality higher education.
He expressed confidence that the programme will equip graduates with competencies aligned with the nation's socioeconomic development goals.
In reply, Minister H.E. Neth Pheaktra praised the university’s contribution, emphasising that education remains the foundation for national development. He noted that the financial aid will enable civil servants, ministry staff, and their children to gain crucial skills to serve the country more effectively.
H.E. Minister added that the ministry remains committed to promoting lifelong learning in line with Royal Government strategy and will broadly disseminate scholarship details to ensure eligible candidates can apply.
