Cambodia's men's national volleyball team made history on Sunday by claiming its first-ever SEA V-Cup title after edging defending champion Indonesia 3-2 in a thrilling five-set final in the Philippines.

The historic victory came at the Candon City Arena, where the Cambodian side overcame Indonesia in a hard-fought match to lift the championship trophy in the first leg of the 2026 SEA V-Cup, held from July 15 to 19.

The result marks a major milestone for Cambodian volleyball, as the national team captured its SEA V-Cup title in only its second appearance in the regional tournament.

Cambodia made its debut in the competition in 2025 but failed to register a single victory, finishing fifth, while Indonesia emerged as the champion.

Cambodian top leaders, including Senate President Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen and Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet extended their congratulations to the Cambodian national team on their triumph, which reflects the country's remarkable progress and continued development in the sport.

Following the conclusion of the first leg in the Philippines, the second leg of the 2026 SEA V-Cup will be held in Indonesia from July 22 to 26.

Formerly known as the SEA V-League, the regional men's volleyball tournament was renamed the SEA V-Cup beginning with the 2026 edition.
