ASEAN Observer Team Visits Tamone Sen Chey Border Area
AKP Phnom Penh, June 25, 2026 -- The Coordination Group (CLG) of the Kingdom of Cambodia facilitated a mission by the ASEAN Observer Team (AOT), led by the Head of Mission from the Philippines, to Tamone Senchey border area on June 25 at 9:35 a.m., according to a press release issued this afternoon by the Spokeswoman of the Ministry of National Defence.
The delegation visited Prasat Tamone Sen Chey Pagoda in Tamone Sen Chey village, Kok Mon commune, Banteay Ampil district, Oddar Meanchey province, to observe, verify, and report on the border situation and assess compliance with measures stipulated in the Joint Statement following the ceasefire.
The statement noted that the locations indiscriminately attacked by the Thai military were entirely civilian infrastructure including school, hospital, pagoda, and homes of innocent Cambodian civilians causing extensive damage and rendering the facilities completely unusable.
The Royal Government and the Ministry of National Defence reiterated Cambodia’s commitment to fully implementing the Joint Statement of the Third Special Meeting of the Cambodia-Thailand General Border Committee (GBC) of Dec. 27, 2025, the Joint Declaration on the Peace Agreement between Cambodia and Thailand of Oct. 26, 2025, and other related agreements.
According to the statement, these commitments are intended to support recovery efforts and restore peace, stability, security, and normal living conditions for communities residing along the border areas of both countries.
