Cambodia Crushes 103 Scam Hubs in Preah Sihanouk
AKP Phnom Penh, June 10, 2026 --
Authorities in Cambodia’s coastal Preah Sihanouk province have cracked down on 103 online scam operations and uncovered dozens of locations housing undocumented foreigners over the past 11 months, according to an official statement.
The Preah Sihanouk Provincial Administration released a report detailing a massive law enforcement campaign conducted between July 2025 and early June 2026. The operations targeted cyber fraud networks and scrutinised high-density residential compounds across the province, a region previously flagged for illicit cyber activity.
During the 11-month sweep, joint task forces inspected a total of 1,321 locations. The inspections led to the dismantling of 103 tech-driven scam hubs. Additionally, authorities identified 48 sites hosting foreign nationals residing in the country illegally.
The Provincial Unified Command emphasised that these operations are part of an ongoing, zero-tolerance crackdown. Local authorities vowed to sustain the momentum of the raids until all online scam syndicates are completely eradicated from the province.
