Cambodian PM Reaffirms Steady Growth of Traditional Cambodia–Viet Nam Relations
AKP Phnom Penh, June 10, 2026 —
Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet has expressed satisfaction and high appreciation for the steady growth of traditional Cambodia–Viet Nam relations despite global uncertainty and rapid changes in the international landscape.
During a courtesy meeting held on the sidelines of the 3rd ASEAN Future Forum in Hanoi on June 8–9, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet and H.E. To Lam, President of Viet Nam and General Secretary of the Communist Party of Viet Nam, reaffirmed their shared commitment to further strengthening and expanding bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries.
Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet also congratulated Viet Nam on the successful organisation of the 3rd ASEAN Future Forum.
During the meeting, H.E. To Lam congratulated Cambodia on its rapid socio-economic development and progress.
He also expressed support for further strengthening and expanding Cambodia–Viet Nam relations, enhancing cooperation among Cambodia, Viet Nam, and Laos, and continuing joint efforts within regional and international frameworks to contribute to maintaining peace and security.
In response, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet reaffirmed Cambodia’s commitment to promoting cooperation under both the Cambodia–Viet Nam bilateral framework and the Cambodia–Laos–Viet Nam cooperation mechanism for the benefit of the peoples of all three countries.
Both leaders also exchanged views on further expanding cooperation in key sectors, including economy, trade, security, national defence, and people-to-people exchanges, particularly among youth.
