AKP Phnom Penh, June 09, 2026 -- His Majesty Preah Bat Samdech Preah Boromneath Norodom Sihamoni, King of Cambodia, has extended condolences to H.E. Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., President of the Republic of the Philippines, following the devastating earthquake that struck Mindanao and surrounding areas.

In a message sent from Beijing on June 9, His Majesty said he was deeply saddened to learn of the tragic disaster, which caused loss of life, injuries, and widespread destruction.

“The people of Cambodia join me in expressing our heartfelt condolences to Your Excellency, to the bereaved families and our deepest sympathy to all those who have been affected by this tragic natural disaster,” he wrote.

The monarch also expressed hope for the swift recovery of the injured and the rapid restoration of the affected communities.
