AKP Phnom Penh, June 06, 2026 --​ Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Acting Head of State of the Kingdom of Cambodia, on June 6 called on civil servants at all levels, particularly commune and Sangkat councils, to continue fulfilling their duties in serving the nation and people more effectively.

Speaking at a meeting with more than 1,500 members of provincial, city, district, commune and Sangkat councils, as well as heads of departments and units across Kandal province, Samdech Techo stressed the importance of delivering public services promptly, efficiently, and in response to citizens’ needs.

During the gathering held at the Cambodian People’s Party headquarters in Kandal province, Samdech Techo expressed satisfaction at returning to meet local leaders and officials and praised their continued efforts in providing public services to citizens.

He also encouraged stronger tax and customs collection and supported strict measures to prevent tax evasion and illegal business practices in order to increase national revenue.

At the same time, Samdech Techo reminded officials to continue safeguarding national stability and maintaining public order through the implementation of the Safe Village-Commune Policy, including efforts to combat robbery, drug trafficking, and cybercrime.

He urged officials to avoid inactivity and abuse of authority, emphasising that public servants are not masters of the people but faithful servants of the people.

Samdech Techo also encouraged Kandal provincial authorities to strengthen cross-border cooperation with Vietnam to promote economic activities, trade, and people-to-people exchanges.

The visit marked Samdech Techo’s 12th mission covering 13 provinces and capitals under his outreach programme aimed at strengthening accountability between the Senate and constituents, improving local governance, and enhancing public service delivery. 

According to the Provincial Governor H.E. Kuoch Chamroeun, Kandal remains one of Cambodia’s key strategic provinces with strong potential in agriculture, industry, urban development, tourism, services, and cross-border trade.
