Inside Cambodia’s Scam Crackdown: 108 Indonesians Among 111 Detained in Sihanoukville Raid
AKP Phnom Penh, June 04, 2026 -- Cambodian authorities have arrested 111 people and seized hundreds of devices in a major raid on an online scam operation in the coastal city of Sihanoukville, with most suspects now facing deportation.
The Wednesday raid, led by the Sihanoukville Unified Command Committee and a provincial prosecutor, targeted a residential building in Sangkat 4 suspected of running a tech-driven fraud ring. Police confiscated 117 laptops, 415 mobile phones, 17 desktop towers, 19 monitors, and 15 motorcycles.
Of those detained, 108 are Indonesian nationals (37 women). Officials confirmed they are being processed for deportation. The remaining three suspects, whose nationalities have not been disclosed, remain in custody at the Preah Sihanouk Provincial Police Headquarters with the seized evidence, pending interrogation and a court appearance.
The crackdown follows a similar raid Tuesday, when municipal forces detained 26 suspects at another residential location, seizing computers, phones, cars, and motorcycles linked to cyber fraud.
