MoT, ADB Review Cooperation on Sustainable Tourism Development
AKP Phnom Penh, May 26, 2026 --
H.E. Huot Hak, Minister of Tourism, held a ministerial-level meeting on May 25 with a high-level delegation from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) led by Ms. Lisa Wright, Alternate Executive Director (Region), to discuss cooperation in Cambodia’s tourism sector.
The meeting was attended by ministers and representatives from various ministries and institutions.
During the discussion, H.E. Huot Hak expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the ADB for its continued support and active cooperation with the Royal Government of Cambodia across various sectors.
The Minister highlighted that the partnership between the Ministry of Tourism and the ADB has contributed to the successful implementation of a number of important development projects aimed at promoting eco-tourism, creating jobs, and supporting the development of a sustainable, resilient, and inclusive tourism sector.
He added that the Ministry has recently received additional ADB-supported tourism development projects, including large-scale initiatives to restore and build supporting infrastructure in key tourism destinations across the country.
According to the Minister, these projects are expected to help improve local livelihoods, generate employment opportunities, and contribute to the conservation and sustainable development of tourism destinations.
