Cambodia-Haikou Cultural Exchange Day 2026 Deepens China-Cambodia Ties
AKP Phnom Penh, May 23, 2026 --
H.E. Huot Hak, Minister of Tourism of Cambodia, presided over and delivered opening remarks at the “Cambodia-Haikou Cultural and Tourism Exchange Day 2026,” held under the framework of the Cambodia-China Tourism Year.
The event, held on May 22 in Haikou City, Hainan Province, China, was attended by Ms. Tong Guichang, Vice Mayor of Haikou City; Mr. Iv Sokhom, Consul General of Cambodia in Hainan Province; representatives from the Hainan Provincial Foreign Affairs Office; tourism company executives; and more than 200 members of the public in Haikou City.
In his remarks, H.E. Huot Hak highlighted Cambodia’s pilot visa exemption policy for Chinese citizens from June 15 to Oct. 15, 2026, as well as the “Visit Cambodia in the Green Season” campaign, which offers special promotions on accommodation, food, and tourism services.
The event featured vibrant cultural and artistic performances by Cambodian and Chinese artists, including the dances “Romduol Bopha Cheat,” “Hainan Coconut Shell Dance,” “Charm of the Green Season,” a “Lion Dance” performance, and a presentation on “The Benefits of the Khmer Krama.”
The performances showcased the rich cultural identities of both countries while helping strengthen cooperation, mutual understanding, and the longstanding friendship between Cambodia and China.
