Cambodian PM En Route to the Philippines for 48th ASEAN Summit

A high-level Cambodian delegation led by Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet and First Lady, Lok Chumteav Dr. Pich Chanmony Hun Manet, departed here this morning for the 48th ASEAN Summit in the Philippines, at the invitation of H.E. Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., President of the Republic of the Philippines and Chair of ASEAN in 2026.
The delegation was seen off at Techo International Airport by deputy prime ministers, ministers, and many other high-ranking officials.
According to a press release of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the 48th ASEAN Summit, to be held on May 7-8 in Cebu, is themed "Navigating Our Future, Together."
The Summit will provide a platform for the ASEAN Leaders to discuss key issues related to the ASEAN Community Building, and the Way Forward, focusing on: (1) ensuring regional energy security and resilience, (2) stabilising food security, and (3) safety of ASEAN nationals, as well as exchange of views on regional and international issues, with a view to fostering a peaceful, prosperous, inclusive, and resilient future.
On the sidelines of the Summit, Samdech Thipadei Prime Minister is also expected to hold bilateral meetings with ASEAN counterparts to further deepen mutually beneficial cooperation and shared interests.
