DPM Prak Sokhonn to Attend 25th ASEAN-EU Ministerial Meeting and to Pay Official Visit to Brunei Darussalam

Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation H.E. Prak Sokhonn will lead a delegation to attend the 25th ASEAN-European Union Ministerial Meeting (AEMM) in Bandar Seri Begawan from April 27 to 28, at the invitation of H.E. Dato Erywan Pehin Yusof, Minister of Foreign Affairs II of Brunei Darussalam.
As ASEAN and the EU will commemorate the 50th Anniversary of their Dialogue Relations in 2027, the meeting is convened at an opportune moment, providing a valuable opportunity for the Foreign Ministers of ASEAN and the European Union (EU) to review the progress of ASEAN-EU cooperation and chart its future direction, with a view to further strengthening the ASEAN-EU Strategic Partnership, according to a press release of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation issued this morning.
The Foreign Ministers will also exchange views on regional and international issues of common interest and concern aimed at promoting peace, security, stability, and prosperity in the region and beyond, it added.
Besides the 25th AEMM, the Cambodian top diplomat will also pay an official visit to Brunei Darussalam from April 29 to 30. During the visit, H.E. PRAK Sokhonn will be received in a royal audience by His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah, Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, Minister of Finance and Economy, and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Brunei Darussalam.
H.E. Deputy Prime Minister will also hold a bilateral meeting with H.E. Dato Erywan Pehin Yusof to discuss ways to further advance the close ties of friendship and expand cooperation in many potential areas between the two countries.
“As Cambodia and Brunei will also mark the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations next year, this vital and timely visit offers new impetus to further enhance the bonds of friendship, solidarity and cooperation across all sectors for the mutual benefits of the two countries and peoples,” emphasised the press release.
