More Foreign Embassies Extend Wishes for Swift Recovery to Cambodian Monarch
AKP Phnom Penh, April 12, 2026 -- The embassies of Japan, Canada, and France have joined other foreign representations accredited to Cambodia in extending their wishes for the full and speedy recovery and long life of His Majesty Preah Bat Samdech Preah Boromneath Norodom Sihamoni, King of Cambodia.
“Our thoughts are with the Royal Family and the people of Cambodia at this time. We hope that Khmer New Year brings peace and prosperity to His Majesty’s beloved nation,” wrote the Embassy of Japan in a statement.
For its part, the Embassy of Canada also wished His Majesty a full and swift recovery. “As Khmer New Year approaches, we join the people of Cambodia in the hope that this new year will bring peace, prosperity, and good health to His Majesty and to the nation,” it said.
Meanwhile, the French Embassy in Cambodia extended its sincerest wishes for His Majesty’s speedy recovery. “As Cambodia prepares to celebrate the New Year, we wish His Majesty and his people health, happiness, and a long life,” the embassy stated.
According to a royal message issued on Friday, His Majesty will extend his stay in Beijing for an additional one to two months for treatment and recovery, following medical advice from doctors in the Chinese capital after being diagnosed with prostate cancer.
