Ministry Says “Dixie Dragon” Content Not Filmed in Cambodia
AKP Phnom Penh, March 29, 2026 --
The Ministry of Information has stated that content posted by the Instagram account “Dixie Dragon” was not filmed in Cambodia, urging the public not to be misled.
Spokesperson H.E. Tep Asnarith said the Ministry is closely monitoring the case and coordinating with the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications to engage Instagram for appropriate action, as the account owner is based overseas.
Initial findings suggest the footage was recorded in a neighbouring country, possibly Vietnam, citing non-Khmer language used on signage and by individuals in the videos. Additional indicators within the footage further support the conclusion that the scenes were not recorded in Cambodia.
The Ministry has contacted the account owner to request the removal of the misleading content and to prevent further postings, clarifying that the locations and individuals shown are neither Cambodian nor based in the Kingdom.
The content has also drawn reactions from social media users, with many pointing out in the comment sections that the videos were filmed outside Cambodia.
Authorities will continue to monitor the situation and take necessary measures in cooperation with relevant institutions. The public is advised not to share the content and to help clarify misinformation online.
