AKP Phnom Penh, March 19, 2026 —
The Royal Embassy of Cambodia in South Korea and the Asian Human Rights and Culture Centre have agreed to strengthen cooperation to provide public services, including free health check-ups and cultural programmes, for Cambodian nationals and local communities.
The understanding was reached following a meeting on Mar. 17 between Cambodian Ambassador to South Korea H.E. Khuon Phon Rattanak and Ms. Joo Eun-pyo, head of the centre, in the Gwangju metropolitan area, according to the embassy’s social media statement.
During the meeting, the ambassador expressed appreciation for the centre’s continued support to Cambodian workers and residents, particularly its efforts in providing counseling services and assisting with problem resolution.
Ms. Joo, in turn, thanked the embassy for its outreach and engagement, while praising the diligence and community spirit of Cambodian nationals, especially their voluntary contributions to society.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to future collaboration through initiatives such as public service delivery, free medical check-ups and cultural activities, aimed at improving the welfare and well-being of the public, particularly Cambodians living in Gwangju and surrounding areas.
