Cambodia to Host 6th Asian Vovinam Championships in November
AKP Phnom Penh, March 10, 2026 -- Cambodia will host the 6th Asian Vovinam Championships 2026 in November, according to a statement of the Office of the Council of Ministers.
The tournament will take place at the National Olympic Stadium, Phnom Penh from Nov. 21 to 27, it added.
The event is expected to draw hundreds of top-tier martial artists from across the continent to compete in Cambodia.
The Fifth Asian Vovinam Championships 2024 was held in Bali, Indonesia, from Dec. 17 to 22, with the participation of athletes from 13 countries, including Myanmar, Indonesia, Vietnam, the Philippines, Cambodia, India, China, South Korea, Japan, Iran, Kyrgyzstan, Timor-Leste, and Nepal.
Hosting the international tournament comes as in recent years, the Cambodian vovinam team have made improved performance in the international competitions.
The team won a total of 23 medals in the 8th World Vovinam Championships, held in Bali, Indonesia, in 2025 and 20 medals, including 6 gold, 5 silver, and 9 bronze from the 7th World Vovinam Championships held in Vietnam in 2024.
