Cambodia, China Envoys Pledge Joint Front Against Cybercrime in Seoul Talks
AKP Phnom Penh, February 02, 2026 --
Cambodia has reaffirmed its "firm resolve" to dismantle online criminal networks operating within its borders, signaling a continued crackdown on the cyber-fraud syndicates that have strained regional ties.
In a diplomatic meeting held recently at the Chinese Embassy in Seoul, Cambodia’s Ambassador to South Korea, H.E. Khuon Phon Rattanak, briefed his Chinese counterpart H.E. Dai Bing on Cambodia’s intensified efforts to suppress transnational online offenses.
Ambassador Rattanak detailed a strategy focused on the arrest and swift repatriation of foreign nationals to their home countries to face prosecution.
"The Royal Government of Cambodia is committed to suppressing these offences through rigorous enforcement and international legal cooperation," he said during the exchange.
In reply, Ambassador Dai Bing acknowledged and expressed appreciation for the Royal Government of Cambodia’s ongoing efforts and achievements in combating online crime.
Beyond security concerns, the two envoys discussed deepening the "diamond hexagon" cooperation framework between Cambodia and China, pledging to synchronise their diplomatic missions in the Republic of Korea.
