Royal Palace Minister Hands Over Land Titles in Kampong Chhnang to Boost Economic Security
AKP Phnom Penh, January 22, 2026 --
Samdech Moha Montrei Kuy Sophal, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Royal Palace, presided over a ceremony on Wednesday to distribute official land title certificates to residents of Boribor district, Kampong Chhnang province.
The event was attended by provincial leaders and a delegation of members of the National Assembly and local officials.
During the ceremony, Samdech Kuy Sophal highlighted the Royal Government's ongoing infrastructure investments in the region, including the construction of roads, schools, and pagodas, as well as the provision of solar lighting and clean water wells. He emphasised that the systematic issuance of land titles is a cornerstone of the Royal Government’s strategy to foster rural economic growth and household stability.
“Land registration is a vital mechanism to improve the livelihoods of our citizens,” the Deputy Prime Minister said. “Secure tenure provides families with a permanent place to live and work, reduces the risk of land disputes, and allows owners to use their titles as legal collateral to access capital for business expansion.”
The Minister instructed provincial authorities to accelerate the systematic land registration process in remaining areas. He noted that official documentation serves as an essential legal shield, granting owners exclusive rights to use, sell, transfer, or bequeath their property to future generations.
Local officials reported a high level of public satisfaction with the initiative, noting that residents increasingly recognise land titles as a legally guaranteed protection of their primary assets.
