AKP Phnom Penh, December 27, 2025 —

Deputy Prime Minister H.E. Hun Many reaffirmed the Royal Government’s commitment to the welfare of the armed forces on Saturday, meeting with over 1,400 military families to provide social assistance and recognise their role in national stability.

H.E. Hun Many, who also serves as Minister of Civil Service and leads the Royal Government Working Group for Kampong Speu province, presided over the gathering at the provincial administration compound. 

He was joined by the Provincial Governor H.E. Cheam Chan Sophorn and senior commanders from the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces (RCAF).

During the event, H.E. Hun Many delivered a message from Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, emphasising that the well-being of frontline troops remains a cornerstone of the administration's policy. 

He specifically highlighted the "moral sacrifice" made by the families of those stationed at the border.

"The peace Cambodia enjoys today has been achieved through the sacrifices of our armed forces," H.E. Hun Many stated. "The Royal Government under Prime Minister Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet will continue safeguarding this peace as the essential foundation for our national development."

The visit served as both a ceremonial gesture and a practical assessment of the families' living conditions. H.E. Hun Many directed provincial authorities and security units to ensure that social services and public assistance reach military households without delay.

To provide immediate relief, organisers distributed essential supplies and financial aid to the attendees. Each of the 1,400 families received: 400,000 Riel (approx. US$100); rice, canned fish, fish sauce, and soy sauce; blankets and cold-weather clothing.

The presence of senior officials from various line ministries underscored a coordinated effort to integrate military welfare into broader provincial development. By engaging directly with the families of border troops, the Royal Government aims to bolster the morale of active-duty personnel by ensuring their "home front" is secure.

The event concluded with H.E. Hun Many reiterating that the state "has not forgotten" the families of those serving in remote or high-risk areas, pledging that such outreach programmes would remain a recurring priority.
