DPM Prak Sokhonn Heads to Yunnan for Cambodia-Thailand-China Trilateral Meeting

A Cambodian delegation led by H.E. PRAK Sokhonn, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, left this morning for China to attend a Trilateral Meeting between Cambodia, Thailand and China, at the invitation of his Chinese counterpart H.E. Wang Yi.
The Trilateral Meeting, scheduled to be held on Dec. 28-29 in Yunnan province, will discuss the recent developments on the current situation between Cambodia and Thailand, stated a press release of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
According to the press release, the meeting aims to facilitate candid and constructive exchanges on the current situation between Cambodia and Thailand, with a view to fostering mutual confidence, promoting de-escalation, and restoring peace, security and stability along the Cambodia-Thailand border areas.
Cambodia highly appreciates China's role as host in providing a platform for dialogue and in supporting efforts to promote mutual understanding and regional peace and stability, and continues affirming its consistent position of resolving differences and disputes through all peaceful means, dialogue and diplomacy, in accordance with international law, the United Nations Charter, and the ASEAN Charter.
On the margins of the meeting, H.E. PRAK Sokhonn will also hold bilateral discussions with H.E. Wang Yi, with the objective of further advancing cooperation and strong partnership between Cambodia and China that contributes to peace, security, stability and development in the region and the world at large.
