Thai Military Aggression Penetrates Deeper into Cambodian Territory
AKP Phnom Penh, December 26, 2025 --
The Spokeswoman of the Ministry of National Defence, H.E. Lt. Gen. Maly Socheata, confirmed this afternoon that Thai fighter jets bombed two locations in Siem Reap province, penetrating deep into Cambodian territory.
“Thai forces deployed fighter jets to bomb Srei Snam district at 1:40 p.m. and O’ Kon Toeung village in Sre Noy commune, Varin district, at 2:20 p.m.,” she said during a press briefing this afternoon.
The spokeswoman added that Thai military forces also carried out heavy bombardments in Preah Vihear, Oddar Meanchey, and Banteay Meanchey provinces. Cambodian forces, however, responded firmly to defend the country’s territorial integrity.
At the same press briefing, H.E. Pen Bona, Head of the Royal Government Spokesperson Unit, reaffirmed that Cambodia is a peace-loving nation and seeks to resolve all issues through peaceful means, including diplomatic dialogue, in full compliance with international law.
He stressed that Cambodia strictly adheres to existing agreements and condemned, in the strongest possible terms, the brutal, malicious, and inhumane acts of armed aggression by the invading Thai military against innocent Cambodian civilians and civilian infrastructure.
H.E. Pen Bona once again called on the international community to exert pressure on Thailand to immediately cease its aggressive actions, violations of international law, and grave human rights abuses, to return to a peaceful resolution, and to be held accountable for its actions.
