AKP Phnom Penh, October 20, 2025 --

The General Border Committee (GBC) Secretariat Meeting commenced today at 18:00 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, according to H.E. Lt. Gen. Maly Socheata, Spokeswoman of the Ministry of National Defence of the Kingdom of Cambodia.

In this meeting, both parties discussed and exchanged documents to prepare for the upcoming 2nd Special GBC meeting, scheduled to be held on Oct. 23, 2025, in order to further enhance the full and effective implementation of the ceasefire, seek practical cooperation to promote peace and stability between the two countries, and facilitate a swift return to normalcy.

The Cambodian delegation was led by Maj. Gen. Nhem Boraden, Chief of the Cambodian GBC Secretariat, while the Thai delegation was headed by Lt. Gen. Nuttapong Praokaew, Chief of the Thai GBC Secretariat.

The GBC Secretariat Meeting is scheduled from Oct. 20 to 22, 2025, under the observation of several key parties: the Heads of the Interim Observer Team (IOT) of Cambodia and Thailand, representatives of the U.S. Military Attachés Office to Cambodia, Thailand, and Malaysia, and representatives of the Malaysian side.
