Over 800 International Tourists Visit Cambodia via Cruise Ship
AKP Phnom Penh, April 20, 2025 —
A cruise ship, the Viking Orion, carrying 839 international tourists from 19 countries, docked at the Sihanoukville Autonomous Port on Sunday for a two-day visit, according to Cambodian immigration police officials.
The Norwegian-flagged vessel, measuring over 228 metres in length, arrived at 12:30 PM after departing from Thailand. The passengers, predominantly from the United States (667 individuals), also included a diverse range of other nationalities. The ship has a crew of 468 members representing 48 different countries.
During their brief stay, 72 tourists will travel to Siem Reap province to visit the famed Angkor temples. The remaining visitors will explore various attractions in and around Sihanoukville.
Local city and provincial authorities warmly welcomed the arrival of the Viking Orion. Officials coordinated security and safety measures to ensure the smooth docking of the cruise liner. The vessel is scheduled to depart Sihanoukville at 8:00 PM on Monday, April 21, continuing its journey to Vietnam.
