Chinese Film Week Launched in Phnom Penh, Cambodia-China Film Cooperation Enhanced

Cambodia and China have launched the Chinese Film Week in Phnom Penh and vowed to promote cooperation to foster development of the film industry in the former.
The launch of the five-day Chinese Film Week in Cambodia was presided over by Cambodian Minister of Culture and Fine Arts H.E. Phoeurng Sackona and Deputy Head of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee H.E. Shen Haixiong, who is also the President and Editor-in-Chief of China Media Group (CMG), on April 17 at Chaktomuk Conference Hall.

During the film week, the Legend Cinema at the Olympia Mall will screen famous Chinese films for Cambodian people free of charge.
The inaugural event was also joined by relevant ministries, government institutions, and artists of the two countries.

Deputy Director of China Film Archive Ms. Zhang Xuxia, who led her senior delegation to join the launch of the Chinese Film Week, was received by H.E. Hab Touch, Permanent Secretary of State at the Cambodian Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts, in a separate meeting at the ministry on the same day.

The two discussed cooperation to foster Cambodia’s film industry through capacity building, promotion, and attracting Chinese filmmakers to film in Cambodia.
