Cambodia Exports 211,058 Tonnes of Milled Rice in Q1
AKP Phnom Penh, April 11, 2025 --
Cambodia exported 211,058 tonnes of milled rice in the first quarter of 2025, generating a total revenue of US$160.51 million, according to a report released by the Cambodia Rice Federation (CRF) on April 11.
The exports were delivered to 55 international destinations, facilitated by 47 Cambodian exporters.
Europe was the largest market, importing 106,513 tonnes of milled rice valued at US$84.83 million. ASEAN member states bought 34,923 tonnes, worth US$24.95 million.
China and its autonomous regions imported 37,821 tonnes, totaling US$22.59 million.
Additionally, 24 countries across Africa, the Middle East, and other regions imported 31,801 tonnes, valued at US$28.14 million.
Fragrant rice remained the dominant export variety, accounting for 81.38 percent of total exports, followed by white rice (13.60 percent) and Japonica rice (2.60 percent). Smaller shares included parboiled rice (1.93 percent) and organic rice (0.49 percent).
CRF President Mr. Chan Sokheang noted that the federation has been actively working to expand rice exports to existing markets while also penetrating new ones.
“CRF will optimise its efforts so that exports continue to increase,” he affirmed.
In addition to milled rice, Cambodia also engaged in significant border trade of paddy rice, totaling 2,440,524 tonnes with a market value of US$575.32 million during the same period.
