Cambodia Agriculture Forum and Expo Highlights Sector’s High Potential to Attract Investment
AKP Phnom Penh, April 08, 2025 --
The Cambodia Agriculture Forum and Expo 2025 (CAFE25) is poised to be a landmark event this year, organised under the leadership of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries (MAFF) with support from relevant ministries, the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO Cambodia), development partners, and the private sector.
According to a joint press release issued today, CAFE25 reflects the ministry’s strong commitment to harnessing Cambodia’s vast agricultural potential, positioning the sector as a key player in the global agricultural market.
The event aims to unite stakeholders in attracting regional and international investments, strengthening trade partnerships, and unlocking the sector’s full growth potential.
H.E. Dith Tina, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries, emphasised that Agriculture is the backbone of Cambodia’s economic development—the foundation for trade and industry. The Cambodia Agriculture Forum and Expo serves as a crucial national platform, focusing on investment, innovation, and partnerships to ensure the sustainability of Cambodia’s agri-food systems.
For her part, Ms. Rebekah Bell, FAO Representative in Cambodia, said, “CAFE25 is strategically designed to align with Cambodia’s development trends and the ASEAN investment climate. By expanding agribusiness opportunities and fostering a modern agricultural ecosystem, the event will enhance productivity for farmers while driving sustainable growth.”
She further stressed the importance of collective efforts under the principle of “leaving no one behind,” urging a unified vision to improve productivity, nutrition, environmental sustainability, and livelihoods for farmers and communities nationwide.
The forum will feature high-level dialogues among key stakeholders across the agricultural value chain, with a focus on investment opportunities for nine strategic commodities: rice, cashew, rubber, cassava, mango, vegetables, aquaculture, pepper, and wood products. These discussions will be part of the main event, scheduled for November 2025.
CAFE25 is a homegrown initiative—organised by Cambodians, on Cambodian soil, and for the benefit of the Cambodian people—showcasing the nation’s agricultural ambitions on the global stage.
