Svay Rieng Hosts a Boat Race to Identify the Fastest
AKP Phnom Penh, March 26, 2025 --
The Cambodian Canoe and Rowing Federation (CCRF) is hosting a boat race from Mar. 24 to 25 in Svay Rieng province to select the best performers.
Mr. Kong Sopheap, CCRF Deputy Secretary-General, added that the competition aims to select the best national athletes for 2025 for international, ASEAN, and Asian sports events, particularly for the upcoming SEA Games 2025 in Thailand.
The boat race takes place at the Vaikor River, attracting the participation of 63 athletes from the Ministry of Interior, the Naval Command, and Kampong Thom and Svay Rieng provinces.
It includes the categories of canoeing, kayaking, and boat rowing, continued Mr. Kong Sopheap.
The participating athletes, aged from 15 to 30 years old, are required to take the 2,000-metre run, the chin-up, and the boat tests for the 200-metre canoe, 200-metre kayak, and 500-metre boat race.
General health checks and drug tests are also included as part of the selection process.
