ADB to Continue Fostering Partnership with Cambodia

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) will continued to strengthen and expand its good partnership with the Royal Government of Cambodia to contribute to achieving the Kingdom’s Vision 2050.
The remarks were made by ADB President H.E. Masato Kanda when he paid a courtesy call on Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, at the Peace Palace here this afternoon.
During the meeting, the ADB president emphasised that Cambodia is an important partner of ADB, and he is convinced that under the leadership of Samdech Thipadei, the relations and cooperation between ADB and Cambodia will see more growth.
H.E. Masato Kanda informed the Prime Minister that during his visit to Cambodia, the first overseas visit as the president of ADB, he went to Kep province to learn about the “Strengthening Climate Resilience and Sustainability of Coastal and Marine Fisheries in Cambodia” Project and visited a high school.
The successful implementation of this project serves as a concrete example of the strong ADB-Cambodia partnership, he said, highlighting the approval of ADB's new Country Partnership Strategy for Cambodia (2024–2028) which aligns with the Royal Government's Pentagonal Strategy - Phase 1.
For his part, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet expressed high appreciation and gratitude for ADB’s support to Cambodia over the past decades, which has contributed to the country’s socio-economic development.
The Premier briefed his guest on the Royal Government’s priority policies, necessary measures and key mechanisms to enhance the areas of health, education, technical and vocational training, local community development, investment environment and so on.
Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet also encouraged ADB to continue fostering close relations and cooperation with local authorities and government ministries and institutions to further strengthen and expand the partnership between ADB and Cambodia.
