Cambodia, Finland Discuss Potential Cooperation in Multiple Areas
AKP Phnom Penn, March 12, 2025 -- Cambodian Prime Minister and Finland Ambassador have discussed potential cooperation in digital transformation, environmental protection, trade, investment, and business between the two countries.
In their courtesy meeting at the Peace Palace in Phnom Penh this afternoon, Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, and H.E. Ms. Kristiina Kuvaja-Xanthopoulos, Ambassador of Finland to Cambodia, also emphasised the importance of cooperation in innovation and the development of an ecosystem to support small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
Both sides spoke highly of the good relations between Cambodia and Finland in the past 55 years, particularly in the fields of mine clearance, agriculture, and land registration.
H.E. Ms. Kristiina Kuvaja-Xanthopoulos vowed to do her best to bring the bilateral cooperation to a new height.
For his part, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet extended his congratulations to H.E. Ms. Kristiina Kuvaja-Xanthopoulos on her appointment as Ambassador of Finland to Cambodia, and thanked the Government and people of Finland for their contribution to Cambodia’s socio-economic development.
Additionally, the Prime Minister elaborated on Cambodia’s key policies and necessary measures aimed at improving the citizens’ well-being. These initiatives focus on strengthening the healthcare and education sectors, vocational training, job creation, digital connectivity, and sustainable development, he added.
Samdech Thipadei also encouraged the Bangkok-based ambassador to continue fostering close collaboration with Cambodian ministries and institutions to further advance the cooperation between both countries.
