Kandal Governor Meets with Indonesian Ambassador to Discuss Cooperation

H.E. Kuoch Chamroeun, Governor of Kandal province, held a meeting with H.E. Dr. Santo Darmosumarto, Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to the Kingdom of Cambodia, at the Kandal Provincial Hall on Thursday.
During the meeting, H.E. Governor Kuoch Chamroeun provided an overview of Kandal’s geography, economy, and development plans.
He highlighted the province’s vision for 2025, aiming to transform Kandal into a key hub for security, public order, industry, logistics, food supply, and housing.
For his part, H.E. Ambassador Santo Darmosumarto expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome and emphasised Indonesia’s commitment to strengthening economic ties with Kandal.
He pledged to encourage Indonesian investors to explore opportunities in the province and requested support from local authorities in facilitating services for Indonesian residents currently living in Kandal.
Indonesia-Cambodia economic partnership is valued at over US$1 billion, making Indonesia Cambodia’s seventh-largest trading partner.
H.E. Governor Kuoch Chamroeun also urged the ambassador to attract more investors to Kandal, underscoring its strategic location surrounding Phnom Penh, Cambodia’s economic hub.
He noted that Kandal boasts key infrastructure, including an international airport and major national highways, making it an attractive destination for investment.
Both parties expressed optimism about enhancing bilateral cooperation to drive economic growth and investment in Kandal province.
