Cambodia to Host Cambodia-Thailand Friendly Football Match on Mar. 8 in Celebration of Diplomatic Relations
AKP Phnom Penh, March 03, 2025 -- In just five-day ahead, the Cambodia-Thailand Friendly Football Match, celebrating the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the Kingdom of Cambodia and the Kingdom of Thailand, will officially kick off at the National Olympic Stadium in Phnom Penh.
The event will be co-chaired by the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of both nations. Regarding this event, the Phnom Penh Administration, in collaboration with relevant institutions, has held four preparatory meetings. The fourth and final meeting took place at Phnom Penh Capital Hall this afternoon, under the chairmanship of Mr. Keut Chhe, Deputy Governor of Phnom Penh.
Mr. Keut Chhe stated that these preparatory meetings aimed to ensure that all aspects of the event were well-organised, including security, safety, seating arrangements for spectators, and parking facilities.
This fourth meeting served as the final review to identify any remaining tasks that need to be addressed to guarantee the event’s success on Mar. 8.
The Cambodia-Thailand Friendly Football Match is a historic event, with the participation of Cambodia’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and Thailand’s Minister of Foreign Affairs as co-chairs.
The match will be broadcast live on Bayon TV and Thai television, allowing people from both nations to watch simultaneously.
This friendly match will feature well-known football players and celebrities from both Cambodia and Thailand, reinforcing and strengthening the bonds of friendship and unity between the two countries.
The event, organised by the Kun Khmer Boxing Federation, will include two matches: Cambodian Football Super Stars team vs. The Thai Celebrities Football Team; and the Kun Khmer Football Team vs. The Muay Thai Football Team.
