Khmer Ancestral Martial Arts Village to be Showcased during Angkor Sankranta 2025

Khmer ancestral martial arts village will be showcased during the Angkor Sankranta event 2025 in Siem Reap province.
The update was shared by H.E. Vath Chamroeun, Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia (NOCC) after a preparatory meeting in Phnom Penh on Feb. 12.
The Khmer ancestral martial arts village will feature all forms of Khmer martial arts, both discovered and undiscovered, including Kun Khmer, Kun Bokator, Yuthkrom Khom, Kun Khel, Krapeu Ha, Kla Krab, Sra-nge Pen, and so on, he pointed out.
The public can join training in traditional Khmer martial arts according to their own interests to gain first-hand experience and knowledge of traditional Khmer martial arts demonstrated by senior masters, H.E. Vath Chamroeun added.
There will also be a competition of Chambab (Khmer wrestling), one of the oldest Khmer martial arts; as well as Ok Chaktrang (Khmer chess) competition, along with the demonstration of a giant chess, emphasised the secretary general.
He was positive that the event would inspire the spirit of nationalism and the love of culture, ancestors, and nation.
Angkor Sankranta is a big annual event held in Siem Reap cultural province to cheer the Khmer Traditional New Year, which will fall this year from April 14 to 16.
